Welcome to Staten News, where the set isn't out yet and the markup already is.
📦 The Presale Spread
Mega Evolution: Delta Reign (ME06) releases November 6. Three weeks out, the presale market has already decided what it's worth. Here's where the sealed product sits, per TCGplayer market prices via TCGCSV on October 16:
Booster Box: $247.01 vs. $161.64 MSRP (+53%)
Elite Trainer Box: $119.28 vs. $49.99 MSRP (2.4x)
Booster Bundle: $72.20 vs. $26.94 MSRP (2.7x)
3-Pack Blister [Seel]: $42.30 vs. $13.99 MSRP (3x)
Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box: $454.68 vs. $59.99 at Pokémon Center (7.6x)
Build & Battle Box: $69.93 vs. $21.99 MSRP (3.2x)
Run it per pack and the picture gets clearer. The booster box works out to $6.86 a pack across 36 packs. The bundle is $12.03 a pack. The Elite Trainer Box is $13.25 a pack.
Read those last two again. The box, the product with the smallest percentage markup, is by far the cheapest way to open this set at presale prices.
These are thin presale markets, and thin markets swing. There's no pull-rate data and no Collectrics rip value yet, because nobody has opened a case. Anyone quoting you expected value on Delta Reign right now is guessing.
🐉 What You're Actually Chasing
Delta Reign carries more than 135 cards, built around Mega Rayquaza ex, the first Mega Rayquaza since the XY era. Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex round out the new Megas. It's the English version of Japan's Storm Emeralda, which came out July 31, plus about 30 cards from Japan's MEGA Starter Decks.
One catch for collectors. The Kyogre Illustration Rare is an Elite Trainer Box promo, not a pack pull. You can't rip your way to it.
That's the whole ETB premium explained. You're not paying $119 for nine packs. You're paying for a guaranteed Kyogre and nine lottery tickets on the side.
🎟️ The Cheaper Doors In
Because the presale ETB is the most expensive way in, here's the calendar for everyone who'd rather not pay it:
October 23: Deck Crafter's Collection [Meowth ex] releases, currently $17.90 market.
October 24: Select Play! Pokémon stores start selling the Delta Reign Build & Battle Box for prerelease events. Each has four Delta Reign packs, a 40-card deck and one of four foil promos (Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus or Kommo-o).
November 2: League stores can start selling the set four days early.
November 6: Official release.
November 20: Build & Battle Box hits general retail at $21.99 MSRP.
A prerelease seat runs roughly $25 to $35, per Marching Dogs, and gets you the Build & Battle Box plus extra packs. The same box is trading at $69.93 presale. That's the cheapest Delta Reign pack access available this month, and it's not close.
📅 The November 6 Pileup
Delta Reign doesn't get release day to itself. A wave of 30th Celebration product also carries a November 6 date, and the presale prices are serious: the Ultra-Premium Collection [Night] sits at $675.12, the [Day] version at $561.28, and the Classic Collection Pack at $310.87, all TCGplayer market via TCGCSV.
Same day, same collectors, same wallets. When that much premium sealed lands at once, somebody's presale price has to give. Could Delta Reign hold its markup through release week anyway? Possible. Guaranteed? Not even close.
This is the three-week window where presale prices are pure opinion, and the first box breaks on October 24 turn that opinion into data.
